Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign France midfielder Adrien Rabiot from Juventus, and they could land him on a free transfer.
Rabiot started five out of seven games for France at the World Cup in the absence of N'Golo Kante and Paul Pogba, and opened his tournament with a goal against Australia.
His box-to-box abilities proved vital for Didier Deschamps' side throughout the competition.

Four years earlier, the midfielder asked to be taken off France's reserve list for the World Cup in 2018, which his nation won.
Now, the Juventus midfielder is on the radar of top European clubs, especially given his current contract situation. Rabiot's deal expires in the summer, and the Italian giants are still locked in talks over a new one.
Italian outlet Calciomercato report that Bianconeri believe it 'almost impossible' to convince Rabiot to renew, even though they have had dialogue with the player's mother and agent, Veronique.
As a result, the France midfielder could move on in January, or the summer - and clubs are circling.
Arsenal keen on Adrien Rabiot
Calciomercatoweb claim that 'many clubs' from the Premier League want to acquire Rabiot, but that Arsenal are 'further ahead' than most.

Mikel Arteta's side have been eyeing a new midfielder to add their squad, having seen bids turned down for Brazilian duo Douglas Luiz and Danilo on deadline day in August.
Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka have been in excellent form for Arsenal this term, but an injury to either or both players would leave the Gunners with a lack of depth in midfield. Rabiot, described as 'world-class' by former Juventus star David Trezeguet this month, could be an ideal signing.
One concern over Rabiot's move, however, will be Manchester United's previous move for the player.
The Red Devils agreed a fee with Juventus, but the deal broke down after Rabiot's camp reportedly demanded an 'obscene' salary.

Given his performances at the World Cup, and impending free agency status, it remains to be seen whether the 26-year-old will tone down those demands. But due to their tight wage structure, the Gunners may have to do some convincing in order for Rabiot to join the club.
