Arsenal Star Announces He Wants To Leave On Instagram

Arsenal Star Announces He Wants To Leave On Instagram

Arsenal are yet to win a league game this season and now one of their players is expressing frustrations on social media.

Arsenal's Ainsley Maitland-Niles has pleaded for the club to let him leave for somewhere where he is "wanted".

The 24-year-old has attracted interest from Everton, who are believed to have put in an offer.

Despite Maitland-Niles being well out of favour, Arsenal rejected the approach and that has left the Gunners No.15 massively frustrated.

He took to Instagram on Monday afternoon, publicly commenting on his situation and even tagging Arsenal in his post.

"All i wanna do is go where I'm wanted and where I'm gonna play," Maitland-Niles wrote, accompanied by three loudly crying emojis.

The bid for Maitland-Niles is said to have been a loan with an option to buy and the player is clearly attempting to force the move through his social media activity.

He spent part of last season on loan at West Brom, where he played more minutes in four months than he has since Mikel Arteta was appointed Arsenal manager in December 2020.

Despite his versatility, which sees him able to play full-back and central midfield, Maitland-Niles has found first-team opportunities hard to come by in recent times.

He was a substitute in the 5-0 hammering at the hands of Manchester City at the weekend, having started the 6-0 Carabao Cup victory over West Brom a few days earlier.

According to the David Ornstein from The Athletic, Maitland-Niles told Arsenal he wanted to play as a right-back this season but he appears to be behind the likes of Calum Chambers, Cedric Soares and Hector Bellerin in the pecking order.

It was only last year when Maitland-Niles was called up to England senior squad before going on to make his debut against Denmark in September 2020.

Everton have done a fair bit of business with Arsenal over the last few years, notably snapping up both Theo Walcott and Alex Iwobi.
