Arsenal fans are convinced Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhailo Mudryk is joining the club after he liked a social media post linking him with a move to the Emirates.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with a January bid for the 21-year-old Ukraine international.

Reports claim Arsenal attempted to sign the winger in the summer but pulled out of negotiations due to Shakhtar’s high asking price.

However, the Gunners are expected to return with another approach for Mudryk when the January window opens.

Shakhtar sporting director Darijo Srna told The Athletic that Mudryk is worth "huge, huge money", comparing the winger to Manchester United duo Antony and Jadon Sancho, who commanded fees of £83m and £73m respectively.

However, the Daily Mirror claim that Mudryk's asking price has now dropped to £40m plus add-ons, which has allowed Arsenal to 'complete the framework of a deal'.

Mudryk has previously revealed he is a fan of Arsenal, praising the club's style of play under Mikel Arteta and admitting his follows their results.

"Yeah. I check on them in 'myscore' and know when they’re playing I can check on them,” Mudryk said an interview with Vlada Zinchenko on YouTube.

"I also watch them too. (Arsenal are) a very dynamic side, in general not just in controlling possession but also in scoring goals."

A screenshot was shared on social media on Tuesday night which appeared to show Mudryk 'liking' a post on Instagram published by Arsenal fan site AFTV.

The post was a screenshot of tweet from an Arsenal supporter, which read: "Saka, Martinelli, Mudryk and Smith-Rowe as winger options. All 22 or younger. Yes please."

Arsenal fans believe it is a sign that the Ukrainian is desperate to join the Gunners.

"He's twerking for us soo much," posted one fan on Twitter.

"I hope he will secure his dream move to the Arsenal," wrote another.

While a third joked: "Bro calm down we’ll come get you damn."
