Arsenal sporting director Edu has revealed what manager Mikel Arteta has told his players about the Premier League title race.

The Gunners currently lead the league table by five points ahead of Manchester City. The Gunners defeated Fulham 3-0 at Craven Cottage on Sunday, with goals from Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard.

With 11 games left to play, Arsenal have accumulated 66 points to date, and are 16 points ahead of third-placed Manchester United.

Arteta's side have led the title race for much of the season, although did briefly lose their advantage after City won 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium last month.

Arteta has insisted that Arsenal's main focus is to 'try and be better every day' - and Edu has revealed what the Spaniard has told his players about the title race.

Edu on Arteta

Arsenal had a successful evening at Monday's London Football Awards, with Arteta winning the Manager of the Year award. Bukayo Saka, meanwhile, won the Men's Young Player of the Year award.

Speaking at the event, Edu reiterated Arteta's previous comments, stating that the full focus is on performing in games with no discussions having taken place on the Premier League title or whether the Gunners can win it.

He explained (via talkSPORT): "We internally never mentioned anything about the title. We are always talking about performing.

"How can we perform better every week? Mikel [Arteta] will send those messages to say, 'Guys. I want to be better, better, better every week.' And then let's see how we're going to finish."

Arsenal need to secure 29 points from the final 33 available to ensure they win their first Premier League title since 2004.

They take on City at the Etihad Stadium on April 26 in what could prove to be a key fixture in deciding the destination of the trophy for the 2022/23 season.
