Arsenal Fan TV's Robbie Lyle gave a rousing 'Captain America speech' before Arsenal's thrashing at Manchester City - it's not aged well.

Ahead of Arsenal's crunch game at the Eithad, Robbie spoke about the belief of earning a result in their pursuit of the Premier League title.

He told Arsenal fans not to lose their faith as he called on them to get 'behind the boys' while referencing their title-winning victories at Old Trafford, White Hart Lane and Anfield over the years.

But Mikel Arteta's outfit succumbed to Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday as they lost the league encounter 4-1.

Kevin De Bruyne bagged a stunning brace - one in each half, with John Stones and Erling Haaland also getting on the score-sheet.

During Man City's rout of Arsenal, fans online mocked Robbie by sharing the video of him talking up his side's chances against the defending champions.

One Twitter user wrote: "Robbie from AFTV really gave a Captain America speech for Arsenal just to get touched up by Man City."

Arsenal remain at the top of the league but just two points ahead of Man City, who have not one but TWO games in hand.

The Gunners have 75 points on the board while the Blues have recorded 73 points.

Arsenal resume their league campaign next Tuesday when they host Chelsea.

As for Man City, they take on Fulham next weekend.
