Arsenal will be forced to wear 'disgusting' combo of away shirt and goalkeeper shorts vs PSV

Mikel Arteta's side will be sporting some strange colours.

Arsenal will wear a combination of their away kit and goalkeeper third kit shorts against PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League.

The Gunners travel to the Netherlands on Thursday, knowing they'll be Group A winners if they avoid defeat.

Last week's 1-0 victory over PSV at the Emirates Stadium, courtesy of a Granit Xhaka strike, put Mikel Arteta's side in a fantastic position.

Arsenal will be sporting a unique look at the Philips Stadium per reports. It was claimed they'd be wearing their black away shirt with the red and white home shorts of their home kit.

PSV wear a red and white striped shirt with black shorts, meaning they've got all bases of Arsenal's kits covered.

The Gunners' third kit this term is a lovely pink effort, which is too similar to PSV's shirt from a distance.

Simon Collings of the Evening Standard suggests Arsenal will wear 'bespoke' grey shorts along with black socks and the black shirt.

It matches the description of their third kit, regularly sported by Aaron Ramsdale and Matt Turner this season. Some have suggested new shorts will be created, with Football Jerseys mocking up both potential designs. Check them out below.

Arsenal dropped points in the Premier League for the first time since September 4 over the weekend following a 1-1 draw with Southampton.

They're still top of the Premier League by two points but have Manchester City breathing down their necks.

Arteta was critical of his side's performance at St. Mary's after Stuart Armstrong cancelled out Xhaka's opener.

"We had three or four good opportunities and should have scored more. We needed two or three goals, but only scored one," he admitted to BBC Sport.

"It's disappointing. We created enough chances but couldn't put the ball away. It's a lesson because we wanted to win again.

"They put us under more pressure through direct play in the second half, and we were struggling."

Arteta is keen for Arsenal to finish top of their group and as a result, will likely go strong in his team selection.

Mohamed Elneny and Emile Smith Rowe are long-term absentees through injury, while Oleksandr Zinchenko is edging closer to a return.

Teenager winger Marquinhos was not present for training at London Colney on Wednesday.
