Premier League transfer target takes cheeky dig at Arsenal

Arsenal fans will be thinking they can now compete in signing some top players but one Chelsea target has already turned them down.

Arsenal may have given their reputation a huge boost this season by competing with Manchester City, but that hasn't helped with one transfer prospect's view of the club.

Most wouldn't have been predicting that Arsenal would finish in the top four this season, never mind being the only team to take the title race to the penultimate weekend of the campaign.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping the signing of a dog called Win can help boost morale following the end of the title race and their eventual failure.

With the title race all but over following their defeat to Brighton last weekend, thoughts have started turning to what comes next for them.

Much of the discussion is about whether or not the Gunners can improve on this season and if they'll be able to hold off the chasing pack behind them.

It's expected that Newcastle United, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea could all improve next season to fight for the top four.

Arteta will no doubt add to his team too but one player he won't be signing is Gent striker Gift Orban, who has been attracting interest from Chelsea and United.

The 20-year-old has been in brilliant goalscoring form in Belgium this season but he won't be moving to north London based on his dig at the Emirates side.

Asked what his dream in football is, the Nigerian told Het Laatste Nieuws, via Sport Witness, "Playing in a big league.

"At a club where I feel comfortable AND where I play. The Premier League is my ultimate dream. Manchester United, Liverpool or Manchester City.

"I don’t really like Arsenal that much – it’s like they don’t want to win titles. They play and sell players – that’s it.

"I want to go somewhere where they win prizes. At Real Madrid they don’t have time for tiki-taka, there they just grab titles."

Speaking to Fabrizio Romano afterwards, the journalist who did the original interview confirmed that Orban was making a joke about the old Gunners' side and not the recent one.

The former Stabaek forward has scored 14 goals in just 13 league appearances in his debut campaign in the Belgian Pro League, catching people's attention.

United are said to have sent scouts to watch the youngster as they continue their search for at least one striker in the upcoming transfer window.

They have been heavily linked with both Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen but either man is likely to cost them a huge amount of money.

Erik ten Hag's side are also said to be eyeing a move for the highly rated Rasmus Hojlund from Serie A side Atalanta, but Orban could be an alternative.

Chelsea are another side who have been linked with the Gent striker and they also need a forward in the summer, considering their poor goalscoring record.
