Alejandro Garnacho posts four-word injury update that will delight Man Utd fans

His return would come as a major boost.

Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho has dropped an exciting update on his recovery from injury.

The 18-year-old sustained an ankle injury during Manchester United’s 0-0 draw against Southampton in early March, and has not featured for the Red Devils since.

Garnacho's absence hit at the worst possible time, with the Argentina international on a good run of form prior to his injury.

The winger is part of a long list of absentees including first-choice centre-back pairing Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane, with the former out of action for the rest of the campaign.

However, in a boost for supporters, Garnacho has posted a positive update on his recovery.

Garnacho was not expected to return to the field until May, with Erik ten Hag warning him to be 'ready' for the final stages of the season.

However, the winger could be back sooner than first anticipated, following his encouraging update on social media.

Garnacho took to Instagram to post a picture of himself wearing a fresh pair of bright pink boots.

He captioned the image: "Back with the boots", alongside a smiley face emoji, suggesting he had taken a significant step in his recovery.

Garnacho has enjoyed a breakthrough season under Ten Hag, making 32 appearances in all competitions before his injury.

In fact, he has been involved in every single Premier League game since November, scoring five goals and providing six assists in all competitions.

His absence has been sorely missed at times, especially since an injury to Marcus Rashford, which kept the Englishman out of United's win against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

However, the Red Devils have maintained their pursuit of the top four, leapfrogging Newcastle into third place over the weekend.

While they face a tough task against six-time winners Sevilla in the Europa League on Thursday, with the scores all tied at 2-2.
