AFTV Regular DT Given Longer Sentence For Violent Stalking

AFTV Regular DT Given Longer Sentence For Violent Stalking

Liam Goodenough, known best for his appearances on AFTV as 'DT' was initially given a 12 month sentence but had it increased to three years.

AFTV regular ranter DT, whose real name is Liam Goodenough has had a prison sentence of 12 months extended to three years, after an appearance at the Court of Appeal.

DT is one of the YouTube channel's most regular 'stars,' and broke his phone live on the channel last year after getting so annoyed at one Arsenal performance.

In November last year Goodenough was handed a one year prison sentence after he stalked, assaulted and kidnapped his former partner, and was also given a 10 year restraining order.

The decision was the referred to the Court of Appeal under the Unduly Lenient Sentence (ULS) scheme, by the Solicitor General, and was heard by the Court of Appeal last week.

On January 13th the sentence was raised to a three year sentence, with Solicitor General, Alex Chalk QC MP saying, "Goodenough subjected the victim to a shocking and frightening ordeal. I referred his sentence because I considered it did not reflect the gravity of the offending and was unduly lenient. I am glad that the Court of Appeal agrees."

According to AFTV, DT had not been a regular for the channel since July last year, but had appeared on January 1st this year, when Goodenough had already been sentenced.

The channel put out a statement on today's news, saying that they had been made aware of the contributor's personal issues but not their severity.

"This morning we have been made aware of news regarding DT, who was a regular contributor on AFTV until July 2021," the statement read.

"We are utterly appalled and disgusted by his actions and totally condemn domestic abuse or violence of any kind.

"DT had made us aware of personal issues in his life, however we can unequivocally say that the extent of the information made public by the government today is new to us.

"DT appeared on AFTV on 1st Jan when the severity of his legal case was unbeknownst to us. The recent developments come as a complete shock to all at AFTV.

"In light of the shocking news, DT will be offered absolutely no place on the channel again."

The 42-year-old Arsenal fan had stalked his former partner as she went on a date and sent her brother messages in which he threatened to commit suicide.

He used the tracking feature on her phone to follow her, verbally abused her at a hotel after tracking her down using the feature, assaulted her partner and then took a photo of his former partner in a state of undress, according to an article on the Government's website.
