250 Leeds United fans travelled to Pablo Hernandez's final game for UD Castellon on Saturday.

Hernandez played 175 times for Leeds, scoring 36 times and cementing himself as a Leeds legend.

The former Swansea and Valencia man was instrumental in the club's promotion back to the Premier League in 2019/20 under Marcelo Bielsa, netting a number of important goals.

He returned to Spain with lowly Castello, his hometown club, where he is also the owner.

His last ever game was a 3-1 defeat in the third division against Cornella.

But Leeds fans made it a special one for the 37-year-old at the Nou Estadi Castàlia. Fans on stag dos, as well as members of the 'Valencia Whites' supporters club, turned up to give Hernandez an incredible ovation.

He was overcome with emotion, with footage showing Hernandez, with a Leeds scarf in his hand, in tears as fans chanted his name and then serenaded him with their 'Marching on together' anthem.

Hernandez also signed autographs and performed the iconic Leeds badge salute gesture.

Hernandez's wife, Mar Garcia, has thanked Leeds fans for their incredible support in a series of tweets.

Taking to Twitter, she confirmed Hernandez will be back at Elland Road in the near future for a "proper mutual goodbye"

The post read: "Overwhelmed with all the love Leeds fans showed us one more time. Just to clarify, Pablo is not retired yet, still got some football on him. And we will come back to ER one day and we will make sure you all know so we can have a proper mutual goodbye. #mot."
