Eight Formula One teams were left stranded in their garages after they shockingly 'forgot' to bring one crucial part to testing week.

On Wednesday, F1 fans got their first full look at the 2025 cars in action as the first of four days of testing got underway at the Bahrain International Circuit.

All twenty drivers spent some time on the track as they complete their final test laps before the 2025 season gets underway at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit in Melbourne on March 14.

But eight of the 10 Formula One teams had a disastrous start to the second day of testing as they discovered they had forgotten one key part that meant they couldn't leave the garage.

McLaren star Lando Norris topped the lap times after a chaotic first day of testing that saw a power cut force teams to halt testing for an hour.

And the chaos continued for several teams on Thursday, as a surprise spell of rain forced almost every F1 driver to sit and wait out the weather in their garage as only two teams had brought intermediate tyres to the testing session in Bahrain.

Ahead of testing starting, fans and pundits questioned why Haas and Aston Martin had decided to bring the intermediates, tyres are best used in wet conditions, to a country that is known for its sunny weather.

But their forward thinking was rewarded as Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon were able to continue to put laps in while their rivals sat in the garage waiting for the weather to clear.

Thankfully, the rain didn't last long and testing for the other teams was able to continue, with drivers already setting times better than Norris' 1:30.430 lap on Wednesday.

Mercedes appear to have been the biggest winners in testing so far, as both George Russell and rookie Andrea Antonelli setting impressive times across testing so far.

The British driver set the second quickest time on day one and has been one of the fastest driver's in the morning session on Thursday, perhaps suggesting that Mercedes could be back to their best in the 2025 season.
