Multiple F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel has made a surprise career change which has left fans astonished.

The German driver is one of the successful in Formula 1 history, having won four consecutive world titles between 2010 and 2013 with Red Bull.

He sits fourth on the all-time list of Grand Prix wins with 53 victories, behind Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher and Max Verstappen.

Vettel began his career with BMW Sauber before moving to Toro Rosso. After a dominant spell with Red Bull, he joined Ferrari, before moving to Aston Martin.

He retired from F1 at the end of the 2022 season. After that, his first move post-retirement was in 2023 to invest in a new German SailGP team, alongside double Olympic sailing bronze medalist Erik Heil.

But now Vettel has decided on another career, having recently completed a course at Harvard Business School.

The certificate says he completed a course in 'The Business of Entertainment, Media, and Sports'.

It is described on the Harvard website as an advanced business class, with a focus on leadership, management, networking and professional development.

The course explores how digital technology has changed the industry, whilst supposedly preparing participants with new approaches to drive revenue and develop strategies.

How did fans react?

Formula 1 fans expressed shock on Reddit when they found out how much the course Vettel's four day course cost.

Heavy-Guest-7336 wrote: "Would could they possibly teach you in 4 days that's worth $12,750?"

Expensive-Method8321 replied: "Nothing. This is mainly so that you can say you have a degree / certificate from Harvard. It's mainly a prestige thing for the wealthy. Some footballers have done the same, Gerard Pique being probably the most notable one."

Other fans were also sceptical about what the course offers.

"A bit of paper from Harvard that says you spend $12,750 on being good at media stuff," wrote CMDR_omnicognate.

"The important part here is that it’s from Harvard, the actual course doesn’t matter as much because it looks good to people who want to hire you.

"You’d think being Sebastian Vettel would also help with that to the point you don’t need the expensive course but eh.

"My guess is this is one of those sorts of things companies send their upper management on as a sort of company official break."

Some Reddit users speculated that Vettel could return to Formula 1 in a non-driving role.

Futilemediocrity said: "Future Team Principal or FIA Chief, I'd be happy either way."
