Oscar Piastri was caught reacting to Max Verstappen's stunning overtake in the cooldown room after the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

On Sunday afternoon, McLaren star Piastri started on pole as the seventh Grand Prix of the 2025 Formula 1 season took place in Imola, Italy.

However, Piastri found himself in second place by the end of Turn 1 after Verstappen pulled out a stunning overtake around the outside.

The Dutchman showed bravery by braking late into the corner before passing Piastri to take the lead.

From there, the Red Bull driver dominated as he ended up finishing more than six seconds ahead of Lando Norris, with Piastri in third place.

After the race, as Piastri sat in the cooldown, the replay of Verstappen's overtake was shown on the screen.

Sat with hands on his head, Piastri was seen puffing out his cheeks as he reacted to the Red Bull superstar's brilliant move.

Speaking immediately after the race finished, Piastri said: "Just broke too early and yeah, I mean, it was a good move by Max as well.

"Well done to Max and Red Bull. It’s a good move but also they had pace today. We’ll look back at that one until we can do it better."

He continued: "Obviously the VSC was perfectly timed for Max and Lando and then I had used both my hard tyres at that point so it made the last restart pretty tricky and I tried my best to hang on to second.

"But just had nowhere near enough grip. I tried my best to hang on, but, just didn’t have the grip."

The Australian also admitted to strategic errors, he added: "I think we made a few wrong calls. Not our best Sunday.

"So definitely a lot of things to look at and review from that one."

As a result of the Imola Grand Prix, Piastri's lead at the top of the F1 standings over Norris has been cut to 13 points.

Meanwhile, Verstappen closed the gap to Norris to just nine points.

F1 will return next weekend with the iconic Monaco Grand Prix, with the Spanish Grand Prix taking place in Barcelona a week after.
