Fans have been reacting on social media after seeing what Max Verstappen did seconds into his GT3 debut.

Four-time Formula 1 world champion Verstappen has enjoyed a recent upturn in form, having won the last two Grands Prix in Monza and Baku.

As a result, there is still hope that Verstappen could make it five world titles in a row, but he will face a tough task of chasing down the McLarens.

With F1 taking a break this weekend before next week's Singapore Grand Prix, Verstappen has been behind the wheel of another race car.

Earlier this month, Verstappen drove a detuned Porsche Cayman GT4 car around Germany's Nurburgring circuit.

The 27-year-old took part in order to earn his GT3 racing licence, enabling him to compete in sanctioned races.

And following on from this, he is this weekend competing in the Nurburgring Endurance Series, driving an Emil Frey Ferrari 296 alongside British racer Chris Lulham.

Verstappen qualified in third place, just three seconds behind the pole sitter.

As the four-hour race got underway on Saturday morning, Verstappen showed his class as he managed to take the lead going into Turn One. He also quickly earned himself a healthy gap out in front.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: "Turn 1? More like “Max 1” - front row isn’t a suggestion, it’s a lifestyle."

Another tweeted: "He is just inevitable, he does to them what he does to others in F1."

A third fan added: "He’s the greatest driver in all of Motorsport."

Someone else wrote: "Max doing Max things. No risk, full push."

A fifth commented: "Is there anything this guy cannot do?"

Another fan said: "He is a beast on the race track."

Verstappen has been known to be a brilliant starter in F1, and he showed it once again in the GT3 race.

F1 will return next weekend with the Singapore Grand Prix, which will take place around the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
