Max Verstappen hits out at fellow driver in savage response to 'false' accusations

Max Verstappen has made his feelings clear.

Fomula 1 world champion Max Verstappen has slammed a fellow racing driver over 'false' accusations.

So far, the 2025 season has been tricky for Verstappen as he has only managed to win one of the six races.

Currently, the reigning F1 world champion is third in the standings, behind the McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

Recently, the 27-year-old Dutchman was spotted driving a Ferrari 296 GT3 car around the Nurburgring under the fake name of 'Franz Hermann'.

Verstappen showed his versatility and natural talent as he managed to break the GT3 record at the track after just three laps.

Taking to social media, Mercedes DTM driver Marco Engel stated what he called a 'few facts' about the spec of Verstappen's GT3 car.

He wrote on X: "To the topic of the moment. Few facts to Franz Hermann GT3 Nordschleife Test: car was run in DTM spec BoP (less weight, more power, lower ride height than NLS BoP). Laptime: 7:48 Still impressive for a first visit to the green hell. Would be cool to see Franz compete!"

However, Mr Hermann aka Verstappen was quick to hit back, he replied: "False. Don‘t spread things when you don’t know how the car was setup and our engine settings. Why would I join a NLS track day with the wrong BOP. Have a good one tomorrow."

Engel then responded: "Seems like paddock chat was incorrect then. Your clearly in a better position to tell us what you ran. Thnx and same to you."

Speaking about the experience, Verstappen explained: "I've never driven there in real life, not even with a road car. Of course, I did spend a lot of time on the simulator doing thousands of laps, so that helped.

"When I got out there a few barriers were different, maybe a few kerbs were a little bit different, but I know the track layout well. It's just getting used to the grip level of the car, the conditions, the new tarmac in places."

He continued: "At the same time I was there with my sim driver that now turned into a real driver. Even for him also to get up to speed there, because eventually we all want to do that race as a team. It was a very good day, we got lucky with the weather as well – it was nice and sunny. It was fantastic!"
