First F1 driver publicly addresses Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian dating rumours

Liam Lawson has become the first Formula 1 driver to publicly address rumours that Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian are in a relationship.

The Sun reported last month that seven-time F1 champion Hamilton and reality star and influencer Kardashian had enjoyed a 'romantic weekend getaway in the UK'.

They subsequently attended the Super Bowl together later in February.

And TMZ reported on Sunday that the pair were seen in Arizona close to Amangiri, a 'luxurious five-star resort charging in the region of $7,000 a night', a week before the start of the new F1 season.

Unsurprisingly, Hamilton refused to comment on the rumours about his private life when asked by a member of the written media during F1 testing in Bahrain.

Sky Sports reporter Ted Kravitz explained: "He was asked that in the written press. He was asked, 'Did you enjoy your company more than the game at the Super Bowl?'

"And he said, 'It's my private life, I'm not talking about that'. So that's me told!"

During their pre-season driver photocall, Hamilton's former team-mate George Russell asked the Ferrari driver whether he was 'all loved up', before adding: "What's the latest?" Hamilton simply smiled in response.

Now, Racing Bulls driver Lawson - who will contest the closest thing to a home race in Melbourne, having been born in nearby New Zealand - has become the first F1 figure to publicly discuss his rival's relationship rumours.

During an appearance on the 'Gypsy Tales' podcast, Lawson said: "Hannah [St John, his girlfriend] has been talking about this today. Like, literally today, she was like, 'Liam, Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton are dating now!'

"It's great for the sport, to be fair. The sport has grown so much in the last few years. I don't know how it can be bad for the sport.

"Again, if it's legit, then great. I'm stoked for them. But so many things come out that are not [true]... like 90 per cent of what you read, even more.

"Even when there were rumours that [Taylor Swift] was with Fernando Alonso a couple of years ago. Even that got so much traction, to the point where the commentators were putting one-liners into commentary!"

If a relationship between Hamilton and Kardashian is made public, it will without question bring even more eyes on to Formula 1.

Kardashian, who initially rose to fame through the reality TV show 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians', has a staggering 353 million followers on Instagram.

There are only six public figures worldwide - Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Selena Gomez, Kylie Jenner, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Ariana Grande - who have more followers on the platform.

Kardashian has been training to become a lawyer for the past six years and completed a four-year apprenticeship, though failed California's bar exam at the first attempt in July of last year.

The 45-year-old will retake the exam, writing on Instagram: "Well, I'm not a lawyer yet. I just play a very well-dressed one on TV.

"Six years into this law journey, and I'm still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up - just more studying and even more determination."
