Lando Norris admitted responsibility in what happened to Oscar Piastri at the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday.
The two McLaren drivers have had a spectacular year and sit at the top two places in the podium, but the Canadian Grand Prix did not end well for either of them.
Norris and Piastri were both competing for podium finishes, but in the 67th lap the former crashed in a bid to overtake his teammate.
The duel, which McLaren's team management also admitted was inevitable at some point did not affect Piastri largely, as he was able to pit but had to be satisfied with a fourth place finish.

Norris, who has been handed a further punishment, had already taken full blame of the incident as soon as the crash happened, offered his apologies to Piastri when he was being interviewed.
He said: "I'm sorry man, all my fault."
Piastri was quick to accept his apology and shook his hand before continuing with the interview.
The reporter then asked the Australian about the incident and what exactly had caused the crash.

Piastri replied: "I mean I obviously haven't seen it, so I don't really know.
"I was defending the inside and then felt a small touch that's obviously all I have at the moment so a shame for the team and it was a difficult race apart from that."
It seems like the two drivers will put this incident behind them and focus on the Austrian Grand Prix, but in the past Mercedes had a similar situation which did not end well.
Mercedes were in a similar position to McLaren for several years when they had two drivers competing for a championship.

Prior to his blockbuster move to Ferrari, Hamilton was a driver with Mercedes for over a decade and won six world championships with them.
He drove with a World Champion in Nico Rosberg there, and although the two were teammates, their relationship was not always the best.
In 2016, both were at their primes and dominating the races, but at the Spanish Grand Prix their cars crashed and both lost out on chance to be on the podium.
A similar incident occurred at the Austrian Grand Prix, but on that occasion Hamilton won the race and Rosberg finished fourth.

Although the Piastri-Norris duo has not had a battle at that level, Rosberg did state in an interview with Sky Sports that small things led to their rivalry being formed.
"The relationship with Lewis started to be difficult on a really step-by-step basis. It was small steps which just spiralled it worse and worse and worse until it was very much out of control," said the one-time Formula 1 champion.
