Lando Norris has stunned Formula 1 fans with his latest social media post amid the bitter feud between Max Verstappen and George Russell.

Verstappen and Russell have been embroiled in an explosive back-and-forth since the Qatar Grand Prix.

The Red Bull star accused Russell of being two-faced and said he had lost all respect for the 26-year-old Brit following last weekend's race.

Mercedes' Russell hit back with an extraordinary interview, branding the Dutchman a 'bully' as he made a series of allegations.

Hostilities will be renewed on the track for this weekend's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Ahead of the race, the F1 drivers went for a meal, with Norris providing an insight into Verstappen and Russell.

He hilariously claimed that they were sat as far away from each other as possible, clearly referencing their beef.

On Instagram, he shared an image of the drivers at a dinner, accompanied with the caption: "2024 dinner! and yes, the two your thinking about were sat as far away from each other as possible."

Norris has given his view on the war of words between Verstappen and Russell.

"So, you have the two sides. You have the side of... we're paid to come here and to race and to perform well for our team," he explained.

"In some ways, no matter what, at what cost, you want to win and you want to give yourself the best opportunity. For George, that was by saying probably what he said and doing what he said.

"At times, I think between drivers, you have that amount of respect when something happens, you're like, like, ‘that's racing, well, that's just what happens sometimes’, and you don't want either of them to get a penalty, because it's racing and, ‘oh, it's just a situation where no one should really get a penalty'."

He added: "Mercedes are not fighting for a championship or something like that, so they're kind of clinging on to a bit more than what Max is. So, they're going to do what all it takes to try and get a pole or try and get a win. So, maybe he's paid the price a little bit of that from a respect, amount of respect from Max.

"But... everyone does things their own way. Some fight harder for things, some fight less. But I enjoy watching them argue like they do."
