F1 fans think Lando Norris aimed a light-hearted dig at Max Verstappen over team radio after winning the Dutch Grand Prix.

Norris qualified on pole for the race, and despite losing the lead to Verstappen before turn one, re-overtook him on lap 19.

He then produced a dominant display to win his second Grand Prix, 20 seconds ahead of the Dutchman.

The Brit also recorded the fastest lap on the final lap to earn an extra point in the Drivers' Championship.

Following the end of the Grand Prix, Norris took to team radio to thank his team after converting pole to a race win.

And fans think he took a dig at Verstappen by repeating his winning catchphrase.

He told race engineer Will Joseph: "Simply lovely, huh?"

Norris has now closed the gap to Verstappen in the Drivers' Championship down to 70 points, having scored eight points more than his rival at Zandvoort.

Speaking after the race, Verstappen admitted that finishing in second at his home race was his main goal, as he knew his Red Bull didn't have the pace to match the McLaren.

He said: "You always try to do better. We had a good start, so we tried everything we could today.

"But throughout the race, I think it was quite clear that we weren't quick enough so I tried to be second today.

"I know that we have good starts, so I was quite confident that we would have another one. Luckily, it was like that.

"Then I just tried to do my own race, and that was my race, that was second today."

Norris, meanwhile, said: "It feels amazing. I wouldn't say a perfect race, because of lap one again.

"But afterwards, it was beautiful. The pace was very strong. The car was unbelievable today.

"I could get comfortable, I could push and get past Max, which was the main thing, and just go from there.

"Honestly, it was quite a straightforward race. Still tough, but very enjoyable."

F1 is back next weekend with the Italian Grand Prix from Monza, as the battle for the Drivers' Championship continues to heat up.
