Highly-rated driver Franco Colapinto's apparent transfer fee has reportedly been leaked after his move from Williams to Alpine.

Back in August, it was announced that Argentine Colapinto would replace American Logan Sargeant at Williams for the remainder of the 2024 Formula 1 season.

The 21-year-old produced a string of impressive performances as he collected five points to finish in 19th place in the drivers' standings.

As a result of his displays, Colapinto had been linked with a move to Red Bull but they instead went for Liam Lawson to replace Sergio Perez.

This week, it was confirmed that Colapinto had left Williams to become the reserve driver for Alpine.

A statement read: "BWT Alpine Formula One Team today announces it has entered into an agreement with Williams Racing to secure the services of Franco Colapinto on a multi-year deal.

"The 21-year-old Argentinian driver will take up the role of Test and Reserve Driver for the upcoming 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship, further adding to the existing pool of talent the team can call upon for driving services throughout the season."

With Colapinto set to apply pressure on rookie Jack Doohan to perform, the Argentine's transfer fee has reportedly been leaked.

As reported by F1 Insider via F1 Oversteer, the rumour circulating around is that Alpine paid €10 million to Williams to lure Colapinto across.

Many fans feel Colapinto could be in prime position to replace Doohan, who is already under pressure before the season even starts.

Speaking recently about the rumours surrounding Doohan's F1 future, Alpine executive advisor Flavio Briatore said: "We'll start the year with Pierre and Jack, I can guarantee that. After that, we'll see as the season progresses.

"I have to get the team in the right condition to get results and the driver is the one who has to conclude the work of nearly a thousand people behind him."

He added: "Everyone works for just two people. If there's a driver who isn't making progress, who isn't bringing me results, I change him. You can't be emotional in F1."

The 2025 F1 season will begin in March with the Australian Grand Prix, which will be held around Albert Park in Melbourne on March 16.
