What's new in the F1 2026 season?

Ahead of the 2026 season, F1 has undergone some of the biggest transformations in its history.

Cars are now smaller, lighter, and more environmentally friendly, designed to glide through corners with ease. Engines have also been redesigned to feature a 50-50 split of electric and internal combustion power, running entirely on sustainable fuels.

One of the most controversial changes?

The Drag Reduction System (DRS) has been replaced by the F1 active aero system, which gives drivers a short burst of extra electric energy when they're within one second of the car ahead.
