Scuderia Ferrari are set to change their colour from red for the first time since 1964, as they announce special livery ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.

Ferrari have enjoyed a successful start to the 2024 Formula 1 season, as they have made impressive strides in their attempt to catch the high-flying Red Bull.

Both their drivers have maximised results and they sit 3rd and 4th in the driver standings with Charles Leclerc ahead of his teammate Carlos Sainz.

The Italian team are well known for their special colourways, with the team running one-off liveries in Las Vegas and Monza last season but this time there is expected to be a huge change in tradition.

According to reports, the Ferrari will be changed from red to blue and the team wear already released by Ferrari ahead of the race back up the reports.

In a video released by the team, it shows both drivers seeing their new kit for the first time as it was reiterated to them that, "red is not the only colour of Ferrari, you know it was the traditional colour of Enzo Ferrari."

The team gear shows off a retro look, with a large rectangular Ferrari logo as opposed to the shield seen on Ferrari's modern kit.

Ferrari's special one-off design change will incorporate two historic shades of blue: Azzurro La Plata and Azzurro Dino.

The livery is yet to be revealed, but with the Miami GP just around the corner, we can expect the new look day now.

This is in honour of the 70th anniversary of Ferrari's presence in North America. This unique colour scheme pays homage to Ferrari's long-standing legacy and connection with the region.

Ferrari last raced in blue in 1964 due to a special United States-inspired white and blue livery which was used on their Formula 1 cars in the last two races of that season.

The new design is likely to capture the attention of car enthusiasts and Ferrari fans alike, with many likely unaware of the brand's connection to blue throughout history.
