All 10 Formula 1 teams have voted for their Driver of the Year for the 2024 season - and the results are fascinating.

Max Verstappen won the Drivers' Championship for the fourth consecutive time at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, while McLaren's Lando Norris and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc also enjoyed strong seasons.

Seven drivers won multiple Grands Prix for the first time in F1 history, with Lewis Hamilton ending a two-and-a-half year win drought at the British Grand Prix.

Traditionally, at the end of each season, all 10 teams will vote for who they believe are the best 10 drivers of the season.

The teams, represented by their respective team principals, use the F1 point-scoring system to rank them - so the first-placed driver will receive 25 points, all the way down to the one point received by the 10th-placed driver.

Verstappen had been given the number one spot for the previous three seasons - and it will be no real surprise to fans that he has once again held on to that ranking.

F1 2024 Driver of the Year - Top 10

Verstappen was in fact placed in first by every team principal, meaning he earned the maximum of 250 points.

Norris was in second - his highest-ever placing - with 178 points, while Leclerc had 121.

Next up were Oscar Piastri and Carlos Sainz, while George Russell got the better of Hamilton by finishing ahead of him in sixth.

The seven-time world champion collected 54 points and dropped down two places from fifth, despite his incredible drives at the British and Las Vegas Grands Prix.

It was likely to be his qualifying displays that prevented him from finishing higher, though, as the Brit struggled throughout the second half of the season in comparison to Russell's Saturday performances - a deficit which even Hamilton himself was unable to explain.

In eighth place was Haas' Nico Hulkenberg, while Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin was in ninth, dropping seven places from his 2023 ranking.

Alpine's Pierre Gasly was 10th after an impressive second half of the season which helped his team to secure sixth in the Constructors' Championship, having been rooted to the bottom after the opening five races of the season.

Seven of the top 10 drivers will remain with their respective teams for the 2025 season, with Hamilton, Sainz and Hulkenberg all making moves.

Hamilton is replacing Sainz at Ferrari, with the Spaniard taking the second seat at Williams alongside Alex Albon.

Hulkenberg, meanwhile, was signed by Sauber for their final season in their current guise before they rebrand as Audi ahead of 2026.
