Christian Horner has secured his first role since being sacked as team principal and CEO of Red Bull Racing in July.

Horner parted company with Red Bull after overseeing all 405 of their Grands Prix since the energy drinks giant took over Jaguar at the end of 2004.

He was initially placed on gardening leave, with his contract due to expire in 2030, but the two parties agreed to a significant pay-out which BBC Sport reported as being worth around £52 million.

F1 journalist Pedro Fermin Flores reported earlier this month that Horner has held talks over becoming the new team principal of Alpine, while also taking a stake in the F1 team.

Alpine's current team principal is Flavio Briatore, who also serves as executive advisor and is a close friend of Horner.

It is reported that a consortium headed by Otro Capital, a private equity and investment firm, are interested in selling their 24 per cent stake, which Forbes value at around $588 million.

But according to PlanetF1, a key clause in the sale agreement to Otro, finalised in September 2023, states that a sale can only proceed 'after the date which is three years after the date of adoption of these articles'.

A sale would also require the approval of Alpine's parent company Renault.

In the meantime, Horner has announced his next role - a speaking tour of Australia.

He will appear in three shows - in Melbourne on February 24, Sydney on February 26 and Perth on March 2.

The season-opening F1 Australian Grand Prix takes place at Albert Park, Melbourne on March 8.

The events, organised by live entertainment production company TEG Dainty, are being branded as 'A Special Evening With Christian Horner: Life In F1... And Beyond', and will feature insight from the ex-Red Bull team principal on his own career as well as the upcoming 2026 F1 season.

"Formula 1 is an extraordinary world, but it's also unforgiving and all-encompassing," Horner stated.

"I'm privileged to have spent a large part of my life in the centre of that furnace, and I'm looking forward to sharing and reflecting on some of the big moments that have shaped who I am today."
