F1 Pre-Season Test Lap Times 'Leaked' as Barcelona Data Feeds Cut

The first test of the 2026 season has kicked off in Barcelona.

Lap times from the first day of pre-season testing in Barcelona ahead of the 2026 Formula 1 campaign have been leaked on social media.

This week, teams are ramping up their pre-season preparations as they begin testing their 2026 cars at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Prior to the session, it was confirmed that Williams would miss the entire testing week in Barcelona.

A statement from the team read: "Atlassian Williams F1 Team has taken the decision not to participate in next week's shakedown test in Barcelona following delays in the FW48 programme as we continue to push for maximum car performance.

"The team will instead conduct a series of tests including a VTT programme next week with the 2026 car to prepare for the first official test in Bahrain and the first race of the season in Melbourne. We are looking forward to getting on track in the coming weeks and want to thank all our fans for your continued support - there is a lot to look forward to together in 2026."

Throughout the first day of action in Barcelona, footage and lap times have been posted on social media.

As per Soy Motor, Haas driver Esteban Ocon completed the most laps in the session, having clocked 67.

Meanwhile, the fastest time of the session was set by Red Bull's Isack Hadjar, who did a 1:18.835.

Following Hadjar was Mercedes youngster Kimi Antonelli, whose best effort was clocked at 1:20.700.

Franco Colapinto was third with a fastest lap time of 1:21.348.

There were also three red flag incidents, with the likes of Colapinto, Gabriel Bortoleto and Liam Lawson stopping on track and putting a halt to the session.

However, in the afternoon, it was claimed that F1 had cut off the live data feeds, meaning access to live timing was no longer available.

Social media user RBR Daily wrote: "F1 has cut off the data feeds, can't follow the live timing anymore unfortunately."

Motorsport enthusiast Jeppe H Olesen tweeted: "No more timing updates from the Barcelona shakedown. F1 has cut off the data feeds."

SPORTbible has contacted Formula 1 for comment.

It has since been clarified that the lap times are handled by the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and released upon agreeing with the teams involved. F1 did not cut live feeds as they did not organise the private tests in Spain.
