Luke Littler gave a hilarious response to losing in the first round of the Players Championship.

Teenage sensation Luke Littler has take the darts world by storm over the last few months, with his run to the final of the PDC World Darts Championship putting the sport under the spotlight like never before.

Despite losing to Luke Humphries in a thrilling final. the 17-year-old became a household name practically overnight, and is now regarded as one of the best players in the world.

Since the World Championships the youngster has had some mixed results, such as his elimination in the first round of the PDC Players Championship 4 on Tuesday.

Littler lost 6-5 to James Wade in a tight contest, after the teenager fought back from a 4-1 deficit to force a decider.

Wade saw off the comeback to secure a place in the second round, although Littler didn't seem to be too downbeat about the defeat.

Littler took to Instagram to share a message with his followers: "Xbox all day it is" followed by a smiley face emoji.

Littler's down-to-earth personality and hobbies when not competing are two of the things that make him so likeable for darts fans.

Littler's admission that he plays on his Xbox and enjoys eating kebabs and takeaways like any other 17 year old make his rise to stardom refreshing.

When he said his elimination means he can play on his Xbox all day, he wasn't lying.

In a recent interview, Littler shared details of exactly how long he practices each day.

"Maybe 20 minutes or half an hour. Just to keep my arm loose.

"I wake up at 1pm or 2pm and I do the same every day.

"I might need to get in a routine of going to bed at a normal time - I never see the morning. I get up, I go on my Xbox, when I get bored of that, I go on the practice board, and when I get bored of that, I go back on my Xbox."

Littler will be in action on Thursday when he takes on Peter Wright night for of the BetMGM Darts Premier League in Newcastle.
