Luke Littler speaks out after failing theory driving test for FIFTH time as fans left stunned by his score

The World Darts Champion has Triple Crown honours but no driving licence and fans react to failed theory test

It's been a banner year for 18-year-old darts phenomenon Luke 'The Nuke' Littler but he hasn't had it all his own way.

Littler won the World Darts Championship and World Matchplay, completing the sport's Triple Crown in record time.

The world number two has delivered a string of dominant performances at the oche but translating that efficiency and confidence to the travails of normal teenage life hasn't always come naturally.

For the second time this month, 'The Nuke' has failed his driving theory test. In an Instagram story, he posted his results with a '5th time and counting...' message.

"I'm sorry to tell you that you've failed your car theory test," reads the notice of results.

Littler scraped through the hazard perception part of the test with a passing mark of 44 out of 75 but his shot at the multiple choice section bounced out.

43 points out of 50 is a pass in the UK driving theory test and Littler came away with a 20, a 20 and a 1 to leave him in need of a rematch.

According to Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) data, the pass rate for the car theory test is 45.2 percent. In the last complete financial year, more than 2.5 million tests yielded fewer than 1.2 million passes.

Information about multiple fails is limited.

Fans on social media have reacted to Littler's latest test results and it hasn't had any effect on his popularity.

"Got to love how normal Luke Littler is," posted one fan on X, formerly Twitter. "Can hit 180s all day long and win countless games against some of the best. But can’t even pass his driving theory test."

"How do you fail a car theory test five times… Luke Littler won’t be driving any time soon it seems," predicted another.

Driving safely is a serious matter, of course, and the commentary isn't all light-hearted.

Said one user: "No conspiracies, just revise better. Buy the mock test in your apps and revise more. Maybe he hasn’t got the time with the travelling around for darts but clearly he’s not revising enough if he’s failed it five times."

Littler has indeed confirmed as much but he's getting closer to a pass. His time will come.
