Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler is annoying one of his Premier League rivals because of his behaviour behind the scenes.

The 17-year-old shot to fame in the 2024 World Darts Championships for his miraculous run all the way to the final on his debut when he was eventually beaten by Luke Humphries.

He is the youngest player in history to reach a world final and swept aside former champions Rob Cross and Raymond van Barneveld on his way.

Littler has since appeared in this year's Premier League Darts after being chosen by the PDC as one of four wildcards to feature in the tournament.

Whilst he's received huge amounts of praise from the media and from his fellow professionals, one has become annoyed with Littler's antics behind the scenes in the lead-up to matches.

The teenager's best performance in the Premier League so far was in Berlin where he finished runner-up to Michael van Gerwen.

He is known for rarely practising, something which rival Peter Wright recently called him out on, as reported by The Express.

"We need that spark. It's great for all the youngsters what he's doing against the big boys," Wright said.

"As for him not practising, it does annoy you when he's just sitting on his phone and then is like, 'Oh, do I have to play darts now?!' It reminds me of Dennis Priestley.

"He used to sit and do crosswords and then it was, 'Oh it's time to play, is it?' Then he'd get up and play and smash you."

Scotsman Wright is yet to play Littler but the pair will square off on Thursday on night four of the Premier League in Newcastle.

Whatever anyone thinks of Littler, his success has brought a huge amount of new fans to the sport.

A record 4.8 million viewers tuned in to watch the world final at Alexandra Palace, so Littler's rise has ultimately benefited everyone.
