Luke Littler sends direct message to fans planning to boo him during Thursday’s Premier League matches

The PDC world champion received a negative reception from supporters at the German Grand Prix earlier this week.

Luke Littler has sent a message to fans ahead of night 12 of the Premier League in Liverpool this evening.

Littler, 18, will be in action at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool later today (April 24), in what will be his first event since crashing out of the German Grand Prix following a semi-final defeat against Dutchman Gian van Veen on Monday.

And the teenager was greeted with a negative reception from a section of the crowd in Munich, Germany, which caused him to suggest that he could skip future events in the country.

"Shouldn't have been in Munich but had to play anyway,” Littler wrote on Instagram shortly after the event.

“Next one in Germany for me is Dortmund [in October] and I am glad to say that."

Earlier in April, Littler spoke out about receiving a negative reception in Berlin, Germany, when he lost to Chris Dobey at a Premier League event.

"I just don’t get it, and I can’t explain it,” Littler explained.

“Obviously, you do your walk-on, but then as soon as I got on stage, I started getting booed.

"I got booed in Hildesheim last year against Peter Wright on the European Tour. I was flying, and then they started booing me, and I lost. It’s something we’ve all got to deal with."

However, ahead of this evening’s action, Littler has taken to Instagram to send fans a tongue-in-cheek message.

“One of the best nights on the Premier League calendar coming up tomorrow, bring on the boos Liverpool,” quipped Littler.

Of course, Littler may expect a mixed reception in Merseyside due to the fact he is a Manchester United supporter, while a large section of those gathered inside the venue will likely be Liverpool supporters this evening - although some Everton fans may leap to his defence.

As things stands, Littler is top of the PDC Premier League table having won four nights and 18 matches earning him 30 points. Luke Humphries is second with 23 points, while Nathan Aspinall and Gerwyn Price make up the top four.
