Speaking after his victory over Smith, Humphries dropped an unexpected bombshell about his future.
Cool Hand Luke has claimed that he is thinking about missing large parts of the PDC Pro Tour calendar in 2026 in order to be in top shape for the big events.

As per The Sun, the 30-year-old said: "Iâve been thinking about not playing any Players Championships next year, to be honest. Like, giving the whole tour a miss because itâs so busy and you have to prioritise what you want to do. Iâll see how I feel. Itâs 34 weeks, 34 days of darts.
"I might just give it a go at the start and if it doesnât go my way, then maybe just give it a miss and focus on everything else. Obviously itâs a busy lifestyle â not too busy. I saw what Michael Smith said yesterday, and heâs right. You canât moan and weâre kind of blessed to be involved in so much darts."
Humphries added: "Itâs not like Iâm moaning. It just might be my decision to spend those 34 days at home and miss one big tournament to sacrifice it. Iâll see how it goes.
"I do enjoy playing the ProTour still, a little bit, but itâs hard. When youâre on the big stage I play my best. When Iâm on the floor, I just donât â so itâs harder for me."
