India supporters have vented their fury on social media after their side suffered a frustrating defeat to Australia in the Cricket World Cup final.
Hosts India went into the showpiece event as strong favourites, having won all 10 of their matches at this year's tournament - including a six-wicket victory over Australia in their opening group match in Chennai.
More than 120,000 fans packed out the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, with the vast majority hoping for a win for India.

But they were left hugely disappointed, as Australia cruised to a seven-wicket victory to secure a record-extending sixth ODI World Cup.
A brilliant century from Travis Head (137) helped Australia chase down their target with 42 balls to spare after India were bowled out for just 240.
It is yet another near miss for India, who have not won the World Cup since 2011 and have been without a major tournament win since claiming the 2013 Champions Trophy.

Their famously passionate supporters were quick to voice their anger on social media after the defeat.
"Safe to say that India are the new chokers of world cricket," posted one angry fan on X, formerly Twitter.
"What a disgrace. Richest board, biggest talent pool, biggest craze in population, everything they had and still failed. Cricket should stop being premier sport of India now. I hope hockey or football takes over," added another supporter.

"This performance from India has been an absolute disgrace. How have they bottled it ffs," posted a third fan.
While a fourth criticised the venue: "Ahmedabad stadium again proved win the toss and win the match. It's disgrace every final is hosted there."
However, other fans were more upbeat after the defeat and willing to congratulate Australia.
"Nothing to complain [about]. Out of 11 just 1 bad performance. Though it was crucial match but it's okay," wrote one viewer.

A second wrote: "No complaints with this team. Undoubtedly the most consistent team. Dominated all the way before finals.
"The only complaint is with myself because I attach my happiness with results."
While a third wrote: "Congratulations to the Australian team and many matches played in the World Cup and many great records were made. Best of luck to the Indian team and next time."
