Jonny Bairstow CARRIED off a 'Just Stop Oil' protestor on the opening day of the second Ashes test in bizarre scenes.

Following James Anderson's first over to David Warner, a protester ran onto the Lords pitch and threw orange power, disrupting the first day of the second test match.

England wicketkeeper Bairstow then carried off the individual of the field, with Stuart Broad resuming play as he bowled at Usman Khawaja.

The Yorkshire batsman received a warm round of applause from the Lords crowd as he carried off the protester.

The groundsmen cleared the orange powder off the pitch, with Bairstow returning to the field after going into the dressing room.

Ben Stokes saw the funny as Broad and Warner exchanged pleasantries.

The scenes at Lords comes after 'Just Stop Oil' protestors caused chaos at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield for the World Snooker Championship last April.
