Manchester City are edging closer towards losing two of their first-team players to Chelsea this summer, following the latest update on the situation.

Stamford Bridge officials have been hot on the trail of a number of Pep Guardiola's squad this summer, following their recent takeover fronted by co-owner Todd Boehly.

Raheem Sterling has been the London club's primary transfer target in attack, as Thomas Tuchel looks for reinforcements after a relatively lacklustre goalscoring showing from Chelsea last season.

The England international has one year remaining on his current Manchester City contract, and holds concerns over game time in the near future - hence the hesitation over signing any new deal.

The former is currently fourth choice centre-back under Pep Guardiola, while Zinchenko looks subject to being replaced by Brighton & Hove Albion's Marc Cucurella in the coming days and weeks.

In a new development and update on Chelsea's pursuit of Manchester City players, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has offered insight into the situations concerning Sterling and Ake.

It is further stated that both players are 'keen' on a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

As for Nathan Ake, Manchester City are expected to hold out for a fee in the region of £50 million and make sure they have a replacement in mind before sanctioning an exit.
