Ever since Manchester City announced the signing of Erling Haaland, the conversation around the blockbuster striker’s arrival has been endless.
For starters, the clinical Norwegian is the instant problem solver to City’s often-toothless finishing, which is symptomatic of matches where Pep Guardiola’s side fail to finish off the opposition - as was particularly evident in their two-legged defeat at the hands of Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final.
In addition, the Sky Blues have managed to find a successor to the virtually irreplaceable Sergio Agüero by executing the signing of one of, if not arguably the outright best number nine in world football.
Among those excited by Haaland’s signing include none other than Nathan Aké, who has shared his thoughts on the Premier League champions’ latest recruit.

“That will be fun in training. He is, of course, very powerful and has a nose for goal. In the way we play, we need that type of player too. He’s a very different type of player than we have now. I think he is a very good asset,” he told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, as translated and relayed by Sport Witness.
The 27-year-old is not the only player who is looking forward to playing alongside Haaland, with the likes of Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne all expressing their enthusiasm in recent weeks.
It is interesting how Aké focuses on the fact that - aside from the Norwegian international’s evidently sky-high ceiling - he offers a completely different element to this Sky Blues side, which is especially key in games where the English giants fail to find a way to unlock deep blocks.
