Manchester City return to domestic action after a two week hiatus, following their triumphs in the Champions League, and the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
The last time Manchester City played a domestic opponent was at the start of September, as the reigning Premier League champions scraped a draw against Aston Villa.
Leon Bailey brought the game level in the closing stages of the affair, cancelling out Erling Haaland’s latest Premier League goal.

The Sky Blues’ Premier League fixture against fellow Champions League participants Tottenham Hotspur was postponed last weekend, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II last Thursday, as the FA postponed all matches as a mark of respect for Her Majesty.
Despite not having played football against English opponents in over two weeks, the Cityzens have still played in the Champions League.
Their most recent match was against Borussia Dortmund, as the two European giants met in the Champions League for the first time since the Quarter Finals in 2021.
The Rhineland side posed a stern challenge for the Mancunian side, as shortly after the second-half was underway, Jude Bellingham struck first as he headed a pass from Marco Reus out of Ederson’s reach.

Just as the game looked to start tapering off, John Stones, returning from injury, scorched a shot into the back of the net, revitalising the Etihad Stadium and his teammates.
Feeding off of this energy, Haaland acrobatically tapped a cross from Joao Cancelo in, giving the Sky Blues a late lead and completing yet another comeback win.
Alongside Stones, Nathan Ake also made an appearance in the clash, coming back off of the injury list which has been riddled with defenders as of late.

However, Kyle Walker and Aymeric Laporte remain sidelined for this weekend.
Despite returning to first-team training, Saturday’s trip to the Midlands will come too soon for Laporte, as he continues his recovery from a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
On the other side of the ticket sit Wolverhampton Wanderers, who similar to the Cityzens, have gone two weeks since playing in the top-flight.

Their last outing saw Bruno Lage’s side win 1-0 win at Molineux over Southampton, as Daniel Podence struck a cross from Matheus Nunes into the back of the net in the closing seconds of the first-half.
