Once again, Manchester City have nominations for high-profile awards following another successful month of Premier League action across October.

City recorded just one defeat across their five English top-flight games last month, with that result coming away at Anfield in controversial circumstances.

Across the whole however, it was a successful month for Pep Guardiola and his players, as they kept up their intense pursuit of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.

October got off to a stunning start, with Manchester City dismantling a Manchester United team high on confidence, as Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scored hat-tricks in a 6-3 win at the Etihad Stadium.

City then scored another boatload of goals, putting four past Southampton at home, prior to the aforementioned trip to Merseyside on 16th October.

Guardiola and his players then returned to the Etihad Stadium a week later, defeating Brighton in a 3-1 win.

The month came to a close with an away trip to the King Power Stadium, as a fantastic free-kick from Kevin De Bruyne secured all three points in a 0-1 win for Manchester City.

Such was the impressive nature of their performances that two members of the Manchester City squad have now received nominations for the Premier League's Player of the Month award.

First of all, Erling Haaland was put forward as a contender for the prize, after his six-goal haul in four appearances during October.

Erling Haaland's six goals in the Premier League in October were complimented by a further two assists, taking his goal contributions tally across all competitions to 25 so far.

Joining the Norwegian striker from Manchester City for the same award is Kevin De Bruyne, who also recorded an impressive individual goal contributions output last month.

The Belgian midfielder made one more appearance than his attacking teammate, providing three assists.

De Bruyne's ridiculous strike against Leicester was also one of two goals scored by the former Chelsea playmaker, taking his goal contributions tally for the season up to 15 across all competitions.
