Revealed: When Manchester City Will Face Manchester United In The 2022/23 Premier League Season

The dates for the Etihad and Old Trafford clashes between Manchester City and Manchester United in the 2022/23 season have been revealed.

Manchester City will begin their Premier League title defence against West Ham in August, though many supporters will be keen to know when the Blues will clash with local rivals Manchester United during the 2022/23 season.

A dramatic comeback against Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa on the final day of the season secured Manchester City’s sixth Premier League title, and fourth in five years, with the Champions now bidding to win a hat-trick of top-flight crowns.

Pep Guardiola has freshened up his attack too ahead of the new season, as the Catalan coach prepares to welcome striking duo Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez to his first-team squad.

Meanwhile at Old Trafford, a number of signings are expected following the appointment of new manager Erik ten Hag

The Dutchman will be the fourth Manchester United boss that Pep Guardiola has faced in a Manchester Derby, with Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and Ralf Ragnick having previously been in the opposite dugout.

Guardiola thrashed a dismal Manchester United side managed by Ragnick at the Etihad Stadium back in March, as two goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez sealed an emphatic and dominant 4-1 victory.

Manchester City took six points off the Reds last season, as two first-half goals in November secured a comfortable 0-2 Derby Day win at Old Trafford - a first away league win over Manchester United since 2019.

The new season, which is set to be heavily disrupted due to the World Cup kicking off in Qatar this winter, means a condensed calendar will see Manchester City play 16 Premier League matches prior to the tournament in the Middle East.

A meeting with local rivals Manchester United will happen before this hiatus, with the first Manchester Derby of the season taking place at the Etihad Stadium on October 1st - though the date is subject to change due to broadcaster scheduling.

The return fixture at Old Trafford, is due to be played on January 14th, with the Blues also having fixtures against Chelsea and Wolves during that month.
