From England: Chelsea Learn Manchester City Asking Price For Raheem Sterling

Manchester City will set a sizeable asking price for Raheem Sterling amid interest from Chelsea this summer, as per a new report.

Chelsea will need to pay £60 million to sign Raheem Sterling from Manchester City this summer, according to a new report.

The England international is entering the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and with the recent arrivals of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, there is a decision to be made on what the future holds for the 27-year-old in Manchester.

With Gabriel Jesus nearing a move to Arsenal, Manchester City are expected to set a significant asking price for Raheem Sterling, who joined the Premier League champions from Liverpool in 2015.

Having been in and out of the starting XI for nearly the entirety of the previous campaign, Sterling could decide to take up a new challenge for regular minutes with the World Cup in Qatar on the horizon.

Despite scoring 17 goals and assisting nine times in 47 outings across all competitions for Manchester City last term, the attacker was often left on the bench in crucial league and Champions League ties by Pep Guardiola.

Sterling was attracted to a potential loan move to Barcelona in January after being out of favour with Guardiola at the start of last season before the Catalan outfit instead went ahead and signed Ferran Torres on a permanent deal.

According to the latest information of Ben Ransom of Sky Sports, it will take a fee in the region of £60 million for Chelsea to sign Raheem Sterling this summer.

The news broke earlier that there is confidence at Stamford Bridge for closing a deal for Sterling by paying £35 million - a cut-price fee that would be considered a major bargain for Sterling by many - despite the length of time remaining on his current contract at the Etihad Stadium.

However, Manchester City are expected to demand a significant amount for one of their most lethal forwards, especially if they would be dealing with a direct Premier League rival for the services of the London-born forward.

Under their new ownership, Chelsea are targeting serious reinforcements in attack ahead of the upcoming campaign and are in talks over a return to Inter on loan for record signing Romelu Lukaku.

Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech are all understood to be unhappy with their respective minutes under Thomas Tuchel, who could bolster his frontline with the arrival of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City to help bridge the gap to the top of the Premier League next term.
