Manchester City Transfer Plans After Impending Gabriel Jesus Exit Revealed

Manchester City Transfer Plans After Impending Gabriel Jesus Exit Revealed

Manchester City will address Raheem Sterling's future after Gabriel Jesus completes his move to Arsenal this week, as per reports.

Manchester City will address Raheem Sterling's future at the club once Gabriel Jesus completes his desired move to Arsenal this week, as per a new report.

Jesus is nearing a reported £45 million to the Emirates Stadium after Arsenal reached an agreement with the Premier League champions over the Brazilian, who will join the Gunners on a five-year contract.

There have been suggestions Arsenal could confirm the 25-year-old's signing early this week, which will allow Manchester City to progress in their pursuit of Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

Raheem Sterling is entering the final 12 months of his current contract at the Etihad Stadium and is seeking assurances over regular minutes before committing his long-term future to City.

The England international has held positive talks with Thomas Tuchel regarding a possible move to Chelsea, who have made Sterling their top target this summer as part of a squad revamp at Stamford Bridge.

Sterling is understood to have enquired about what life is like under Tuchel in west London and is believed to be excited by the prospect of joining hands with the German manager next term.

Sources close to Manchester City have stated Sterling is aiming to sort his club future out in the coming weeks, with Chelsea set to hold talks with the English champions over the 27-year-old this week.

The Blues believe an offer in the vicinity of Gabriel Jesus' impending move to Arsenal would see Manchester City sanction a sale for Raheem Sterling, who has won four Premier League titles at the Etihad Stadium since joining from Liverpool in 2015.

After agreeing to send record signing Romelu Lukaku back on loan to Inter, Chelsea are targeting up to six summer signings and have handed Thomas Tuchel a £200 million budget ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

As per the information of Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City will switch their focus on Raheem Sterling's future once Gabriel Jesus flies to England this week to complete a move to Arsenal.

Chelsea are preparing a fresh bid to sign Sterling, who is reportedly valued by City between £50-60 million.

Pep Guardiola has secured the arrivals of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez to bolster his attack to challenge on all fronts next season and could see Sterling follow Jesus through the door in the coming weeks.

Manchester City are keen on getting as much transfer business done as possible before they head to the United States for pre-season in July.

Sterling will soon make a concrete decision on his future as he holds talks over his future with City, who will be keen on getting a fee closer to their asking price for the forward amid interest from Chelsea.

City will have desired to avoid the risk of losing Sterling on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer and have presented a contract extension to the Englishman.

However, negotiations over a renewal have stalled for a considerable amount of time and there is little expectation Sterling will sign a new deal at the Etihad Stadium.
