The latest on Aymeric Laporte, Kalvin Phillips and Marcos Senesi ahead of Manchester City vs Bournemouth (Premier League)

Manchester City welcome Bournemouth to the Etihad Stadium for their first home match of the 2022/23 campaign.

Pep Guardiola will be without both Kalvin Phillips and Aymeric Laporte this Saturday.

Manchester City host newly promoted Bournemouth this weekend, in the Premier League Champions' first home match of the 2022/23 season.

Playing at the Etihad Stadium for the first time since securing a fourth title of Pep Guardiola's reign in dramatic fashion, the Sky Blues will look to make it two wins from two this weekend.

Summer signing Erling Haaland scored twice on debut at the London Stadium last Sunday, as City comfortably beat West Ham United 2-0 at the London Stadium.

The Norwegian emphatically scored a penalty which he won in the first-half, before linking up with Kevin De Bruyne in the second-half to guarantee the three points.

City have never lost to Bournemouth, who travel to the North West having also won 2-0 on the opening weekend of the season.

Scott Parker's side began their return to the top-flight with a win, beating Aston Villa courtesy of goals from Jefferson Lerma and Kieffer Moore.

The Cherries last visited the Premier League Champions in 2020, suffering a 2-1 loss in the Carabao Cup.

Ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash, both Pep Guardiola and Scott Parker have provided an update on the fitness of their respective squads.

Pep Guardiola will remain without Aymeric Laporte, with the Spain international continuing his recovery from a knee injury which is expected to keep the defender sidelined for a matter of weeks.

Fellow summer signings Kalvin Phillips and Julian Alvarez featured from the bench in East London last weekend.

Alvarez is in contention to make their home debut alongside striker Erling Haaland.

However, Kalvin Phillips' first minutes as a City player at the Etihad Stadium will not come this weekend, after the England midfielder was ruled out of the match due to injury.

Cole Palmer is also a doubt for the fixture, according to Pep Guardiola.
