Bernardo Silva has ended talk of a possible summer transfer to Barcelona.

The 28 year-old, who started in Manchester City's emphatic 6-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night, has been heavily linked with a possible move to the Camp Nou once again this summer.

Silva moved to the Etihad Stadium from AS Monaco in 2017, and has won 11 trophies, including four Premier League titles in the past five years.

The Portugal midfielder has been subject to intense transfer interest from both Spain and France, with Paris Saint Germain having shown late interest in the Manchester City star.

Barcelona have been continuously mooted as a possible destination for the 28 year-old, despite the La Liga club's continued financial woes.

In the past fortnight, it had been widely reported that Bernardo Silva would remain with the Premier League Champions this season, something the Portugal international has now confirmed himself.

"I haven't received any offers. I'm staying in Manchester, I'm happy and the decision has been made," said Bernardo Silva on Wednesday evening.

Silva was speaking following the Sky Blues' impressive 6-0 win at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.

City thrashed newly promoted Nottingham Forest, courtesy of goals from Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez and Joao Cancelo.

Haaland continued his impressive start to life in England with another hat-trick, scoring three goals in the first-half.

The 22 year-old has now scored a mouthwatering nine goals in his opening five Premier League matches.

Fellow summer signing Julian Alvarez was also on the scoresheet, scoring a second-half brace on his first league start.

Also amongst the goalscorers was Joao Cancelo, scoring with a superb long range strike.

City's latest win keeps them second in the table, two points Mikel Arteta's Arsenal, who continued their winning start to the season with a victory over Aston Villa.

City are Steven Gerrard's next opponents, with the Champions travelling to Villa Park on Saturday.

Guardiola's side dramatically came back from 2-0 down to beat Villa 3-2 to retain the Premier League title in May.

Bernardo Silva can be expected to be with the City squad this weekend, after ending months of transfer talk post-match.
