Barcelona Believe Significant Manchester City Signing Can Be Completed For €65 Million

Officials at FC Barcelona believe they can strike a deal for almost €40 million less than Manchester City's valuation for Bernardo Silva.

Officials at Barcelona staggeringly believe that they can strike a deal with Manchester City for Bernardo Silva - at a much lower price than the Etihad club are believed to be wanting this summer.

The Portuguese midfielder has been at the centre of strong interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs for over a year now.

Interest was first sparked after unhappiness from the player's camp first emanated last summer, with Bernardo Silva feeling homesick amid the travel restrictions imposed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, after a stellar season in which Silva drove Manchester City to yet another Premier League title, there was hope in various quarters that the player had once again felt at home in the north-west of England.

Nevertheless, this hasn't stopped various European journalist and outlets from speculating on the player's future and interest from the continent.

The latest information to emerge concerns interest from the cash-strapped Barcelona camp, who reportedly think very highly of Bernardo Silva.

Although, according to the report from Barcelona-centred journalist Gerard Romero, a deal between Barcelona and Manchester City for Bernardo Silva is being described as 'not easy'.

Firstly, it is stated that the Catalan club would have to 'convince' Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, and the club's Director of Football Txiki Begiristain to sell the player - which is something they are far from inclined to do any time soon.

From the viewpoint of the Camp Nou, Romero reports that the La Liga club believe they can sign the Manchester City star for anywhere between €65 million and €70 million, accompanied by 'some low bonuses'.

However, and unsurprisingly so, the hunt for Bernardo Silva is being described as 'the furthest right now' from completion out of all the deals being worked on by Barcelona chiefs.

Manchester City have shown a focus on selling players this summer.

Gabriel Jesus completed a £45 million transfer to Arsenal this month, while Raheem Sterling is seemingly edging closer to a move to Chelsea this week.

However, it is very unlikely that City officials would happily sanction the sale of a player who has proven to be so crucial to their style of play over the years.

Replacements in the current market are few and far between, especially for a player as sensational as Bernardo Silva.

Elsewhere on the replacements front, City officials may have to seek such a player to fill a hole left by Nathan Ake.

The Dutch central defender is showing some level of interest in making a return to Chelsea, who have made the player a priority target this summer.

However, the London club will certainly have to meet Manchester City's asking price - which is understood to be in the region of £50 million.
