Anthony Joshua has gone in the complete opposite direction for his fight with Joseph Parker compared to his fight against Carlos Takam in his last title defence by weighing in lighter than he has in four years.

Back in October AJ was supposed to defend his WBA (super), IBF and IBO titles in Cardiff against Kubrat Pulev but with just days to go until the fight was set to take place Pulev backed out and Carlos Takam stepped into his place.

At the weigh in the former Olympic champion surprised everyone, even his trainer, when he weighed in at 18 stone and 2lbs, heavier than he'd been for any of his previous fights.

The fight this weekend against Parker is expected to be a much trickier fight, with the New Zealander also undefeated and a world champion, and in preparation AJ has come in at his lightest in ages, weighing on at just 17st 4lbs, with Parker at 16st 12 lbs.

Fans took to Twitter to discuss the difference between the two men at the weigh in:

The Sprott fight, the last time Joshua fought at a lower weight, came in November 2014 and took AJ to a record of 10-0 inside the Echo Arena in Liverpool. Since then he has won his next 10 fights, won his world title belts and defended at least one version four times.

The fight on Saturday night will be the second biggest of his professional career after the fight with Wladimir Klitschko and could set up the chance to hold all the titles with a scrap with Deontay Wilder somewhere down the line.

AJ is the biggest he's been in his career whilst being the smallest for four years!
