Tempers flared at the weigh-in ahead of the middleweight unification fight between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez' and Daniel Jacobs last night.

'Canelo', who is putting his WBA 'Super' and WBC belts on the line, came it at 159.5lbs, while IBF champ Jacobs weighed in right on the 160lbs limit.

There's been a mutual respect between the two champions in the build-up to the fight but that went out the window after they stepped on the scales here; the pair butting heads before Canelo shoved Jacobs and they had to be pulled apart

Matchroom Boxing's Eddie Hearn reaction to the things getting heated at the face-off was utterly priceless.

Hearn would then tell Sky Sports that the Mexican fighter is "rattled" going into what promises to be the fight of the year so far.

"I've never seen Canelo Alvarez react like that," Hearn said, as per Boxing Scene.

"It was surprising, I think they both instigated it to be honest with you. It surprised me that Canelo even wanted to engage like that.

"You saw that a little bit in the Golovkin 2 fight, but this seemed a little bit more like a fiery Canelo Alvarez. I don't know if that's good news or bad news for Danny Jacobs, but he's definitely rattled.

"Again, whether that ups his performance or makes him nervous, I don't know. But it's a nice little edge to a very important fight tomorrow night."

Canelo, the highest-paid boxer in the sports, is the overwhelming favourite for the Vegas bout but Jacobs is used to being the underdog and overcoming the odds.

He is aptly nicknamed 'the Miracle Man after being told he would never box again when he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, in 2011.

Jacobs made a full recovery and returned to the ring after 19 months away. Now, the 35-2 Brooklyn boxer looks to send a message of hope by achieving a monumental career victory and becoming unified middleweight champion.

Can Jacobs pull it off or will Canelo reign supreme?
