'Manny Pacquiao Is Better Pound-For-Pound Boxer, But Floyd Mayweather Beats Him Every Time,' Says Max Kellerman

'Manny Pacquiao Is Better Pound-For-Pound Boxer, But Floyd Mayweather Beats Him Every Time,' Says Max Kellerman

Floyd Mayweather has been predicted to beat Manny Pacquiao on every single occasion they fight, despite the Filipino sensation being branded the better pound-for-pound boxer.

That's according to boxing commentator Max Kellerman, who was asked if Pacquiao was a better pound-for-pound boxer than Mayweather.

The 46-year-old American, who is co-host of ESPN talk show First Take, put forward his argument for Pacquiao being the better pound-for-pound boxer.

However, Kellerman added that boxing legend Mayweather would beat his fierce rival even if they both fought in their respective primes.

"You can make the argument -- and I do -- that he's pound for pound better than Floyd Mayweather," he said on ESPN.

"Yes, Mayweather beat him, and yes, if they fought in their primes, I think Floyd Mayweather would have beaten him.

"But Floyd turned pro at 130. He won his first title at 130 -- at junior lightweight.

"Pacquiao is a naturally smaller guy. He won his first title, the lineal flyweight championship, at 112. Moving up from other divisions along the way [and] eventually moving up to junior middleweight.

"If you consider the body of work and where Manny started from, Pacquiao can be considered a better pound for pound -- which really means division for division -- fighter than Floyd Mayweather."

Mayweather, who retired from boxing in 2017 with an undefeated 50-0 record, faced Pacquiao in a blockbuster fight in 2015.

And the 43-year-old American walked away with the ultimate bragging rights after winning by unanimous decision in Las Vegas.

Mayweather and Pacquiao, who are two of the best pound-for-pound boxers of all time, have not let their rivalry settle since their 2015 mega-fight.
