Mike Tyson has been offered a world title shot at the age of 54.

'The Baddest Man On The Planet' made his return to the ring after 15 years away when he took on fellow boxing great Roy Jones Jr in an eight-round exhibition bout at the Staples Center, Los Angeles.

The fight garnered a whopping 1.6 million pay-per-views and generated over £50 million.

Having got himself in superb shape, Tyson looked impressive and immediately shared his interest in competing in further exhibition bouts.

After talks over a trilogy with Evander Holyfield fell through, 'Iron' Mike recently told reporters he will fight former rival Lennox Lewis in September.

But the youngest heavyweight champion in history is also the subject of an offer to fight for the belt he last held in 1996.

Trevor Bryan, 23 years younger than Tyson, became WBA 'Regular' champion in January and has challenged him to an upcoming superfight.

In a statement to World Boxing News, the 31-year-old said: "Bring on Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. I'll take their belts and become the undisputed heavyweight champion.

"I'll even give Iron Mike Tyson the opportunity to come back and fight me for my title. I'm more than ready, so let's get it on. We are ready to go.

"I'll take on Mike Tyson for a tune-up, and then I'll fight either Joshua or Fury the same night."

Bryan, yet to defend his title, is promoted by Don King - who was Tyson's promoter.

The two have had a topsy--turvy relationship over the years. but appear to have patched things up as they had dinner in Florida last weekend.

"Let's make a deal," King said.

"Trevor is ready to get back into the ring and claim the other belts."

Tyson recently revealed he wants THREE blockbuster exhibition fights in 2021, including a bout with WBC world champion Tyson Fury.

If Tyson was to fight and beat Bryan, he would surpass George Foreman as the oldest heavyweight champion in history.

Foreman, who did it at 45 in a stunning comeback when he knocked out 26-year-old Michael Moorer in the 10th round, has tipped Tyson to usurp him.

"If he gets in shape like he's in now, and then gets his timing back, and all the other things fall into place, he can have an opportunity to fight for the title," Foreman told USA TODAY Sports in November.

"If he can be managed right, a champion, the right champion, will come to him. And if the right one comes, he can knock him out.

"Just think if (Tyson) had some activity the last two years. He'd be in line to be the champion of the world again at 54, 55.''
