Madness erupted at the weigh-in for the Super featherweight world title fight between Ewa Brodnicka and Soledad Matthysse when the champion planted a kiss on the challenger's lips.
Intense staredowns are a common theme at faceoffs ahead of combat sports but Brodnicka, 16-0 went a step further than normal when she riled up Matthysse with a smooch ahead of their bout in Czestochowa, Poland.
And it worked, Matthysse responded with a slap to the face as things begun to boil over. Brodnicka then did her best to level matters on slaps but the promoter, who had immediately was able to step in and diffuse the situation.
The pair had the mandatory photo with the belt held aloft before Brodnicka jetted off stage. One would expect some serious fireworks in their fight on Friday night.
Brodnicka isn't the only fighter to have kissed an opponent in an attempt to get in their head. During Tyson Fury's comeback fight against Sefer Seferi at the Manchester Arena, the Gypsy King gave the Algerian a friendly kiss on the lips in the ring before the first bell tolled.
Fury then pretended to replicate his antics with Deontay Wilder in August but the Bronze Bomber looked less than impressed.
