Eddie Hearn has responded to Deontay Wilder offering an astonishing $50 million to fight Anthony Joshua.

Late last night, the undefeated WBC world champion took to social media, challenging the unified heavyweight king.

Team Wilder reportedly tabled a massive $50 million deal to Joshua's camp.

Joshua himself, head trainer Rob McCracken and his promoter Hearn all received an email sent from Wilder's personal address.

The Matchroom boss has since countered the deal with terms he wants in place in order to consider and ultimately accept the offer.

"More of a PR move than anything," Hearn told Sky Sports.

"Interesting development. It's very nice of Deontay to make that offer. We need to see how secure that is. We need to see a contract. We want to know where it is. And quite a lot of other things, as well.

"Definitely interested to looking at those numbers."

While also speaking to iFLTV: "I got an email from Deontay Wilder, basically offering a 50/50 split of the fight, which isn't of interest, but with a $50m guarantee which is of interest.

"It said to please accept this fight by tomorrow, which makes it feel like a PR move, especially since it has come from Deontay. But we have to take it seriously."

Hearn added: "They want total control of the show - and a date and venue of their choice. If this is serious, with a proof of funds and proper contract, we need to look at it.

"They are banking on the fight making 20m dollars and Wilder getting 20m against the 12 and a half we offered him.

"We really want to do the fight in the UK. That's where we've built something incredible and the base of our offer was doing it in the UK."
