Katie Taylor has received backlash online for her response to Conor McGregor's presidential bid.
McGregor announced his plans to run for the Irish presidency earlier this year.
And he called on his followers to contact local councillors on his behalf to support his bid.
The ex-UFC champion claimed that he already 'secured' the support of councils, TDs and Senators.
He addressed his bid in a video filmed outside Government Buildings in Dublin 2.
On social media, the 37-year-old wrote: "Citizens of Ireland, the time for real change is now!
"As President, I will not sign any bill in law until it goes back to the people first!
"If you want to see my name on the ballot for the Presidency, I urge you to contact your local county councillors today and ask them to nominate me.
"Our councillors are the backbone of our communities. They work harder and deliver more for the people than those in the Oireachtas, who continue to fail this country time and again.
"If you are a councillor who feels your voice is ignored, your hands tied, and your community overlooked, then I ask you to stand with me. Nominate me, and I will give you the platform and power to be truly heard.
"If you want to vote for McGregor, it starts now. Call your local councillor today and demand change."
In his video, McGregor mentioned homelessness and immigration, describing himself as a 'master of martial combat' and a 'solution driven man'.

Many people on social media backed McGregor, including fellow fighter Taylor, who 'liked' his post on Instagram.
But Taylor's public backing of McGregor shocked fans online considering he lost a civl rape case among other legal woes.
Fans online turned on Taylor, who was slammed for supporting McGregor.
One wrote: "Katie Taylor likes the post of a convicted rapist, wife cheater and assaulter of women. Isn't that charming."
A second added: "Katie Taylor supporting McGregor and his deluded notion of presidency? Can't say I'm surprised."
