In the wake of his defeat to Tommy Fury, Jake Paul rattled off a long list of excuses as to why he lost the bout.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer claimed he got 'sick' on two occasions during his training camp before adding that he also injured his arm.

But when boos started ringing out around Saudi Arabia's Diriyah Arena, he immediately back-pedalled and said they weren't excuses – even though they clearly were.

Paul was handed his first professional defeat, losing on points to ex-Love Island winner Tommy Fury.

The two fought valiantly, although Fury was the clear winner and subsequently got his hand raised after eight rounds.

When he was handed the microphone after the fight, the Brit dedicated the win to his newborn daughter back at home before thanking his team.

But when in-ring interviewer Radio Raheem made his way over to Paul, the former child Disney actor began rattling off a load of excuses, revealing that his preparations were tainted by illness.

🗣️ "I'll come back. I think we deserve that rematch."

“Honestly, I felt flat. I got sick really bad twice in this camp, injured my arm, so it wasn’t my best performance,” he said.

“But I lost - I’m not making excuses. I’m just saying, it wasn’t my best performance, I felt a little flat and like I said, we’re going to come back and get that W.

“Don’t judge me by my wins, judge my by my losses - I’m going to come back stronger.”

Paul questioned the scoring of the judges, insisting that he 'deserves' to activate the rematch clause in his contract with Fury.

“I’ll come back. I think we deserve that rematch. It was a great fight, a close fight," he added.

“I don’t know if I agree with the judges. I got a 10-8 round twice, so it is what it is. This is boxing.

“Look, I’ve already won in life man, I’ve already won in every single way. I have an amazing family, amazing friends, amazing work ethic and I’ve made further than I ever thought that I would and beyond.

“This is definitely a humbling experience. I’ll take it on the chin, get back in the gym and we can run it back because I think we put on an amazing show for the fans tonight.”
